Cabo de Gata, beyond Reality, from 1997 to 2007

This set of photographs and poems where accomplished in an area called Cabo de Gata in Almería, (Spain). Cabo de Gata is located on a coastal plain flooded with salt water and surrounded by dunes, between the volcanic range that gives its name to this place, and the Mediterranean Sea. I chose this natural area as a virtual space, having in mind the metaphor of turning at a corner and entering in a different reality, where the landscape becomes a state of mind for reflection.

This photographic discourse is carried out between corners; after turning the first corner lights, shadows, windows and doors appear; at the next corner, we come across the wind and the desert, and at the last corner, our feet go towards the rocks, the sand and the water. It is more than a landscape. The photographic fragments concentrated, and taken out of context seem to reconstruct a space far away from reality, and that reflects a particular mood.
